Established by Mahmoud Shalaby, a Sole Proprietor company for a diversity of techno-commercial activities and business including consultancy, commercial Agencies and representation, and importation of machines tools, tools, and industrial equipment.
EMECO is a distinguished Member in the German Arabic Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Egyptian Union of private sector contractors, possess an Import License, and a Commercial Agent's License.
The company with its quality orientated strategy acquired a leading position in the market; only the best product was marketed based on long term cooperation with first class suppliers.
Among other suppliers the following brands are represented in Egypt, with exclusivity for the majority:
- Index-Traub Group, Germany for high end single spindle, multi spindle automatic and CNC controlled turning machines. (Exclusively, till now).
- Gräbener Pressen, Germany for coining presses fort the industrial sector, high speed minting presses, and medals presses. (Exclusively, till now).
- Eaton Leonard, USA for high precision CNC tube bending Machines for the aircraft industries.
- Pfauter (now Gleason), Germany for high quality Gears manufacturing machines. (Exclusively, till now).
- Deckel (now DMG), Germany for high performance engraving, milling, and machining centers with high technology CNC control.
- Michael Deckel (now ISOG), Germany for high precision tools and cutters production and grinding machines.
- Emuge, Germany for High end taping and measuring tools. (Exclusively, till now)
- Franken, Germany for High end milling cutters in HSS and Hard Metal. (Exclusively, till now)
- Hartner, Germany for high quality twist drills. (Exclusively, till now).
- Zoller, Germany for high precision tools presetting and controlling machines.
Activity of conveying systems was added by becoming agent and distributor for Thyssen (now ThyssenKrupp) to configure, sell, install, and maintain high quality elevators, escalators, and walkways.
Due to the remarkable success with Thyssen in the Egyptian market a Joint Venture between the two companies was established with 75% ThyssenKrupp, 25% EMECO.
Through the years the JV ThyssenKrupp Elevator Egypt became the reputable leading company in Egypt. Most prestigious and strategic projects such as hotels, shopping malls, underground stations and international airports accommodate our elevators, escalators, walkways, and Passenger Boarding Bridges.
The Company working force grew from a handful to 650 employees and turnover from few hundred thousand to a two digit Million Euro.
Establishing a regional office for North Africa and Middle East and the success in Egypt was extended to Libya, Tunis, and Morocco where we established our local companies and Sudan where we worked through an agent.
ThyssenKrupp acquired EMECO Share and Mahmoud Shalaby became the regional manager and remained General Manager for ThyssenKrupp Elevator Egypt and board member for the companies in the region. In 2013 Mahmoud Shalaby decided to retire from ThyssenKrupp Elevator Egypt but remained their official consultant and coordinator for special large project such as Airports and Underground projects.
Starting the activity in the renewable energy sector. After 2 years of extensive studies and selection of reputable suppliers. The starting strategy was based by applying what we learned in two years and to learn by doing by getting small projects ( 100-500 KWp) of Design and Engineering, Supplies, Project management, and EPC.
The key technical persons including a well experienced German engineer are taking care of the am tasks in addition to the education and management of the subcontractors used for the installations.
We have strategic relations to components' suppliers and service providers such as: Schneider Electric, RPV, GTR, Yingli, Suntech, Schletter, HDG, and Hoppecke.
